16 Beijing office buildings get 5G network coverage

Office workers in 16 Wangjing area office buildings in Beijing were able to sample the speed of the new 5G mobile network on Tuesday through their local WiFi and broadband, which has a data transfer rate of over 700 Mbps during downloads and 90 Mbps during uploads.
These buildings are the first office buildings in the Chinese capital to receive 5G network coverage.
China Mobile Beijing branch has begun the construction of 5G network and smart-building capabilities for the 16 office buildings. Xia Bing, chairman of China Mobile Beijing branch, said the company would work with real estate developers to build 5G in selected Beijing office building projects.
A real estate developer working with China Mobile Beijing branch said internet access and mobile data networks are highly needed in office buildings, and that 5G will be tremendously influential in the future.
China Mobile Beijing branch will launch the 5G network in high-end office buildings in Beijing landmark business districts.
