Construction for an urban forest park in the Lufa area covering more than 560 mu (37 hectares) began Thursday. The area is located on the south extension of the city's central axis in Weishanzhuang town, Daxing district. Visitors can expect the park to open in April. 

Daxing will plant more vegetation of 32,800 mu this year, with a new round of afforestation focused on a corridor extending from the Daxing International Airport, according to the Gardening and Greening Bureau of Daxing District.

The corridor starts at the north border of Xihongmen town in Daxing district, stretching south to the Daxing International Airport, with a total length of 29 kilometers. The landscape will present gorgeous autumn scenery, various shades of forests, and vivid seasonal changes. It will be integrated with the urban forests already in place, and people can enjoy their trips to the airport through the forests. 

Daxing will also construct Langfa Urban Forest Park, Xihongmen Ecological Leisure Park, and Jiugong Urban Forest Park this year, with a total coverage of more than 7,000 mu. Construction is set to be finished at the end of the year. The three parks, together with Nanhaizi Country Park, will compose a forest park ring along Beijing's second green belt.

Besides the three parks, Daxing will also see the buildup of three more urban forests in its towns.
