Du Feijin, a standing member of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Beijing Municipal Committee and head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee, attended a meeting on Wednesday concerning the enforcement of computer software copyright in the capital.

Du said that 2019 is the first year since the Publicity Department of the CPC Beijing Municipal Committee took over the city's enforcement responsibility over software copyright, and it coincides with the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China. He urged the city's government bodies, state-owned enterprises, and healthcare organizations to closely follow Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, conscientiously implement the requirements of the 19th CPC National Congress as well as the second and third plenary sessions of the 19th CPC Central Committee, and take institutional reform as an opportunity to stimulate new impetus and promote the standardization, normalization, institutionalization, and informatization of the city's software copyright enforcement in an all-round way.

Du also urged that all units to pay high attention to the enforcement of software copyright, and consciously take on the mission of promoting software copyright and protecting intellectual property rights. He stressed the importance of summing up experience, making up for the shortcomings, and conscientiously rectifying existing problems. Du encouraged all participants to make new and greater contributions to building Beijing into a national-level cultural center as well as a scientific and technological innovation center.

The meeting also conveyed specific requirements of the inter-ministerial joint meeting for promoting the use of legal versions of computer software. Representatives from the city's Public Security Bureau, Xicheng district, and Beijing Mass Transit Railway Operation Corp each shared experiences in enforcing software copyright.
