Sixty-five registered journalists from 53 countries and regions covering the Second Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation (BRF) visited the Tianzhu Free Trade Zone in Beijing's Shunyi district on Thursday.
The visit was part of a media tour organized by the press center of the forum and the Beijing municipal information office.
During the visit, the journalists toured the exhibition hall, cultural hall, and trade center of the National Base for International Cultural Trade, and the cross-border e-commerce direct mail station of Beijing Capital International Airport, and learned about its cultural trade service platform.
Established in 2008, the Free Trade Zone is divided into the bonded functional zone and the port operation zone. It focuses on developing characteristic platforms for cultural trade, trade for science and technology, cross-border e-commerce, financing, etc.
The series of media tours also feature other themes including Beijing's local culture, traditional culture and creative industry, sci-tech innovations, high-end manufacturing, major constructions, gala performances, and movies.
