The 2019 China Tourism and Culture Week will kick off worldwide on May 15, the country's tourism and cultural authorities announced at a press conference in Beijing on Sunday.

From May 15 to June 30, 34 overseas Chinese cultural centers and 19 overseas tourism offices will organize 257 tourism and cultural exchange activities, aiming to promote the integrated development of China's tourism and cultural industries.

A similar simultaneous worldwide campaign coordinated between these overseas cultural centers and tourism offices happened in 2016.

The activities will include photo exhibitions and various forms of tourism promotions, performances, lectures, and forums, featuring different themes such as celadon wares and traditional Chinese medicine.

From May 17 to 31, Chinese cultural centers in Japan, Singapore, and Hungary will showcase tourism and cultural products from Suzhou, a city in east China's Jiangsu province. A parallel event will be launched in Suzhou to celebrate the worldwide campaign at the same time.

Moreover, tourism authorities and companies in dozens of other Chinese provinces, prefectures and municipalities will also join hands with the overseas organizers and organize promotional activities to promote inbound tourism and popularize their cultural charms.
