The 14th China Beijing International Cultural & Creative Industry Expo (ICCIE) will be held from May 29 to June 1 in Beijing. The preparations are underway and an estimated 700 or more companies will attend the expo.

This year's ICCIE will fall under the China Beijing International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS). About 100 activities in six parts will be held, including exhibitions, promotions and transactions, forums and meetings. An official online platform for the expo will further support the event. Altogether, the expo agenda includes five comprehensive events, eight promotional fairs, five forums and four creative and cultural activities.

As in previous years, the main venue for the event will be the China International Exhibition Center, with a total exhibition area of 35,000 square meters, consisting of 17 theme zones. In addition, five sub-venues with special themes and district-specific cultural industry venues will be set up.

Lin Bin, deputy director of the ICCIE organizing committee, said that the entire event will be oriented to both China and the world. A Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Culture and Tourism Zone will present about 1,000 innovative cultural and tourism products of that region. Other provinces and municipalities from around the country will also present their cultural and creative products at the main venue.

In addition, the expo will feature the fourth Belt and Road Countries' Special Culture Exhibition, said Li Bin, as well as a Cultural Sanlitun zone, gathering such popular stores as Sanlian Taofen Bookstore and Taikoo Li Red Hall store to promote cultural and nighttime consumption. Additionally, the expo this year will place greater emphasis on its trading function by gathering investment projects and encouraging contract-signing on the spot or online.

Aside from Chinese attendees, several foreign delegations, embassies and associations from over 80 countries and regions, including the United States, France, Britain and Italy, have confirmed their participation.

At the expo, the China National Film Museum will host an exhibition on the 70 years' development of China's film industry. A great number of trade associations and higher institutions will play an active part in it.
