At the China International Fair for Trade in Services on Thursday, Beijing Daxing International Airport launched the first batch of business development projects aimed at attracting businesses to the airport economic zone.

The airport announced plans for four major projects in the economic zone: the convention center, the healthcare center, the shopping mall, and the comprehensive bonded zone.

For the convention center, the airport plans for it to become a major venue for professional exhibitions of high-tech industries, entertainment events, and academic gatherings. The healthcare center is set to become an Asia Pacific-wide hub of industrial leaders ranging from international hospitals, medical research teams focusing on cutting-edge biomedical innovations, and healthcare services.

The shopping mall is planned to become a commercial complex integrating shopping, multifunctional urban communities, and high streets where people can enjoy shopping at department stores and dinning at specialty restaurants. The comprehensive bonded zone would offer one-stop service including bonded logistics, bonded services, bonded R&D, and bonded processing.

The Beijing section of the airport economic zone has a planned area of about 50 square kilometers, divided into two parts: the west Yufa section covering an area of 26 square kilometers and the east Lixian section of 24 square kilometers. Facilities providing healthcare and offering airport-supporting businesses will agglomerate in the west, while the convention center, bonded services, and aviation logistics will gather in the east.
