Qingdao customs have bust three rings that smuggled cosmetics, cigarettes and wine from the Republic of Korea to China, according to the General Administration of Customs.

Custom officers and local police arrested 37 suspects, seized goods worth 5.6 million yuan (812,770 U.S. dollars) including over 1,753 sets of well-known cosmetic products, 32 bottles of premium wines and 65 cartons of cigarettes.

The suspects adopted an "ant moving" strategy and tried to conceal these objects underneath their clothes to get around customs.

According to Chinese laws, smuggling goods could lead to punishment up to life imprisonment based on the level of crime.
