Five exhibitors from Expo 2019 Beijing on Thursday reached agreements to take offices in Yanqing Park, a horticultural R&D complex in Beijing's Yanqing district.

In their new office space, the five companies are expected to focus on developing soil matrix, exploring seedlings, building trading platforms, creating mixed plants, and making horticulture-associated products. Including the newcomers, the Yanqing Park now hosts a total of 11 R&D institutions and 33 horticultural companies, including the College of Horticulture of China Agricultural University, the Institute of Urban Agriculture of Beijing University of Agriculture, and the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences.

The R&D complex boasts an exhibition hall showcasing various products developed by the tenants, with highlights including new breeds of the Chinese rose, as well as lavender-based, rose-based, and lutein-based products.

Since preparations began for Expo 2019 Beijing, Yanqing has taken the opportunity and attracted many horticultural companies to take offices in the district.

Yanqing is also inviting more R&D institutions to join the office park. Horticultural development teams from the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Beijing Forestry University, and Beijing Engineering Research Center for Floriculture have begun work in Yanqing district.
