China's Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Emergency Management (MEM) have allocated a total of 830 million yuan (about 120 million U.S. dollars) to five provincial-level regions to help them recover from floods, the MEM said Tuesday.

The funds have been channeled to the provinces of Hunan, Jiangxi, Guizhou, Fujian and Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and will be used for relocating affected residents, purchasing relief materials and the reconstruction of damaged houses.

The regions were hit by floods caused by heavy rain since July 9.

The MEM has also allocated a batch of relief materials including tents and quilts to the affected regions.
