The annual Beijing Design Week is scheduled to open on Sept. 5. During the month-long event, there will be 45 branch venues in 10 districts of Beijing, making it convenient for local people to experience the power of design in their neighborhood.

On Saturday, the Beijing Design Week Organizing Committee announced that the events will be held in the following 10 districts: Dongcheng, Xicheng, Chaoyang, Haidian, Fengtai, Fangshan, Tongzhou, Shunyi, Huairou, and Yanqing. Among these branch venues, there are famous cultural sites and attractions such as Beijing Fun, Fayuan Temple, and Dashilan. Apart from these, there are also cultural and creative parks such as the Jili International Art Zone located in Chaoyang district, and the Dagao International Art Zone located in Tongzhou district. Each venue will take advantage of its industrious expertise and hold various activities with themes such as the update of cities, the activation of intangible cultural heritage, and new cultural and creative ideas. These activities are expected to be closely connected with the following ideas: design leads the update of industries, design leads the trend of consumption, design promotes trade prosperity, and design empowers the innovation of cites.

Apart from Beijing, other cities such as Tianjin, Langfang, Zhangjiakou, and Chengde will have branch venues, and there will also be an online branch venue. Later at the end of this month, Beijing Design Week 2019's Qingdao Station will be launched, and it will focus on international film and TV design.

A favorite item on Beijing Design Week schedule is the "Journey of Design," and it plans to hold nine special activities this year, including China Design Challenge, Alibaba Tmall Cultural and Creative Meeting, Mobile Design School - Bauhaus Bus Tour, the Wisdom of New China's Craftsmen - the Great Hall of the People.
