A pair of male panda twins were born to both captive and wild parents in southwest China's Sichuan province Tuesday, according to China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda.
Panda Cao Cao, 17, gave birth to the twins at the Hetaoping panda base in Wolong, with the cubs weighing 166 grams and 84.1 grams respectively.
Rescued from the wild in 2002, Cao Cao grew up in captivity. She was released into the wild in March and mated with a wild panda in April, as scientists tried to increase genetic diversity of captive pandas, according to the center.
Cao Cao has given birth to nine cubs, including three pairs of twins so far.
