Beijing Design Week 2019 readies to begin

The Beijing Design Week 2019 will raise its curtain at the South Square of The China Millennium Monument on Sept. 5 and run through Oct. 7.
Themed with "Industrial Initiative," the week will consist of 10 major parts, including an opening ceremony, a themed exhibition, an award ceremony for design, and a design expo. The "National Image Design Exhibition of the People's Republic of China in the Early Years" will fall into three parts: the national image design for the national flag, national anthem, the Chinese currency and stamps; the images and patterns for China's iconic buildings; and design for products concerning people's livelihood.
The Beijing Design Week awards, whose ceremony will coincide with the opening ceremony, will be renamed as the "Beijing Design Awards" that include three major awards: the Classic Design Award, the Traditional Craft Design Award, and the Service Design Award. The latter two will be promoted as international awards, and organizers have added a special award for the designs of cultural products at museums.
The Beijing Design Expo will last from Sept. 12 to 16 at the National Agricultural Exhibition Center.
