China has vowed to tighten regulating the commercialization of Buddhism and Taoism for their healthy development.

A meeting on implementing stricter regulations against the commercialization of Buddhism and Taoism was held on Monday and Tuesday in east China's Anhui province.

Unplanned building of large open-air religious statues will be banned, turning religious resources into company assets that go public or turning them into tourism spots will be forbidden, and raking in money in the name of religions will be prohibited, according to the meeting.
