The No. 05301 train departed from Qinghe Station at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday for joint debugging, marking a milestone for China’s domestically developed intelligent train units.

According to China Railway Beijing Group, the intelligent train units will be tested and tuned between Changping Station and Xiahuayuan North Station on Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway, a vital transportation infrastructure of the 2022 Winter Olympics as well as a major infrastructure project in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region. The train units can reach a top speed of 350 kilometers per hour during the test.

Since comprehensive inspection trains were launched on the Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway on Oct. 5, train units on the route have gradually increased speed, reading 385 kilometers per hour by Oct. 20. Testing along the Chongli section of the high-speed railway also began on Oct. 22.

The debugging of Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway involves more than 6,000 factors such as fixed facility, mobile equipment, traction power supply, and train control. More than 2,000 people from dozens of departments and units are participating in check-up, fine-tuning, and safety control.
