The Shenzhen Luohu Media Convergence Center was officially launched on Nov. 20, one of the eight district-level facilities to be established in the city.

Li Xiaogan, head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Shenzhen Committee, and Luohu Party chief Luo Yude attended the launch ceremony.

As a pilot district in Shenzhen's reform and opening up, Luohu has exerted every effort to build a media convergence center with neighborhood characteristics.

The functions of the district's television network production and management center and its news center have been integrated. With personnel reasonably reallocated, a professional and efficient reporting and editing team has been organized.

Through the coordinative control platform of the integrated media center, diversified presentation and multi-channel communications in regard to a single news report can be smoothly realized.

Aiming to build an information hub better serving citizens, the district has developed "Luohu Plus", an APP that integrates local media resources and 24 high quality programs and columns, on the basis of its official website luohu.com. Latest news and information on government affairs and various public services are available.

Citizens can also submit their proposals and comments on issues of specific concern to the APP to obtain an early response by related authorities.

Building district-level media convergence centers is one of the major tasks forming the initiative of "Shenzhen Cultural Innovation and Development 2020". The first three such centers were launched this September in Yantian, Longhua, and Guangming districts.
