The Luohu tax bureau has pledged to further improve its services and introduce a series of tax cuts allowing more local enterprises to enjoy dividend of the policies.

The reduction of tax and fees and the improvement of taxation-related services are conducive to enterprise technological upgrading, and optimizing the district's business environment, the bureau said.

The fact that the transaction volume of Alibaba, the largest e-commerce platform in China, on Nov. 11, an annual online shopping spree in the country, hit 268.4 billion yuan, up 25.71 percent year-on-year, was cited by the bureau as testament to the robust demands of the consumers, and the positive roles the State's series of tax reduction policies have assumed in promoting consumption to become a major national growth driver.

Among the new measures recently introduced, a new personal income tax law is now operating; small and micro enterprises have enjoyed several rounds of inclusive tax cuts; the rate of the added-value tax has been lowered from Apr. 1 this year.

The statement from the Luohu tax bureau said it had never hesitated to make use of such moves to translate the government's will to boost consumption upgrading and transform growth model into tangible benefits to local people and businesses, and it would continue to do so.

The Shenzhen branch of Suning.com, a major e-commerce company in the country, saw its sales revenue hit 580 million yuan on Nov. 11, an increase of 10.05 percent year-on-year.

The company attributed the marked increase in sales to its successful promotions customized for that day, as well as robust demand in the local consumption market fostered by the tax- and fee-reduction policies.

The company's financial director, surnamed Zhang, said: "These tax cut policies are well implemented in Luohu, and has greatly eased the company's operating burden."

The company has saved about 5.96 million yuan in taxes and fees from January to September due to the materialization of these policies, Zhang added.

As a result, it can set aside more resources to improve its logistics services, and to organize large-scale promotions to create more benefits for consumers, he said.
