Luohu on full alert in new coronavirus outbreak

The Luohu district government convened a meeting on the control and prevention of the new coronavirus on Jan. 26.

The Luohu Public Health Bureau, Emergency Management Bureau and all sub-district offices have reported their current situation to the district's leading group handling the anti-epidemic work, led by Luo Yude, Luohu’s Party chief, Liu Zhiyong, head of the Luohu government, and Fang Defan, deputy head.

After hearing the reports, the leading group decided the epidemic control and prevention work in the district is being conducted in an orderly way, and the circumstances are stable.

The group, which was set up immediately after the Guangdong provincial government initiated its first-class public health emergency response mechanism on Jan. 23, consists of office, epidemic control and prevention experts' panel, medical care experts' panel, publicity work team, information reporting team, and operation guarantee group.

Luohu has closed down Hongfa Temple, Xianhu Botanic Park and some other public places, including entertainment and cultural facilities, and strengthened the public hygiene and sterilization work in relevant places.

Also, the law enforcement officers have inspected 28 farm produce fairs in the district, and banned transactions of all wild animals and live poultry.

The district has designated the Luohu People's Hospital's Chunfeng branch as the place where all fever patients,  those coming from the epicenter of the outbreak of the virus, and their close contacts, are quarantined for medical observation.

The medical staff of the Luohu Center for Disease Control and Prevention are working around-the-clock every day to ensure all tests of epidemiological samples can produce results within four hours.

The government has mobilized all its community-level branches to track down all possible cases of infection , as well as those having close contact with them.

The Shenzhen Railway Station, long distance bus station, ports in Luohu are conducting temperature measurements of all travelers using public transport.

And all sub-district offices have set up epidemic control and prevention teams in all of the 83 communities in Luohu.

The government is also using various means to disclose necessary information to raise the people's awareness on disease control and prevention, while ensuring transparency of the anti-epidemic war in the district.
