Service center for disease prevention to cover 4,000 residential communities in Beijing

Beijing is setting up service centers to meet growing demands of people returning to the city from the extended Spring Festival holiday.
In order to make shopping convenient and minimize the need for people to gather as much as possible, community-based service centers have been established by local retail companies Wumei and Dmall in residential communities in Shijingshan and Fangshan districts.
The city is expecting these centers to cover 4,000 residential communities, helping to prevent and control the spread of the novel coronavirus, ensure the supply of daily necessities with stable price and high quality, and guarantee people's health and safety.
The service centers have also been equipped to meet the increasing amount of online orders for deliveries of daily necessities. The staff of district governments and street offices have participated to deliver the online orders to local residents.
These orders are confirmed through Dmall’s mobile app. Sorted by the supply chain of Wumei Logistic Center, they will then be delivered to the service center of every residential community accordingly for consumers to pick up, making sure that there is no people-to-people contact throughout the shopping process. Service centers are flexibly located in either the offices of community committees, grocery stores, or temporary outdoor shelters.
For residents not familiar with mobile shopping apps, staff of the street office will help them place their orders, so that these service centers can cover all the residents in their neighborhoods.
