The construction of the comprehensive transportation hub in the Beijing sub-center of Tongzhou district has resumed on Feb. 9, according to the China Railway Construction Engineering Group's official website.

About 30 workers from Hebei and neighboring provinces have returned to the construction site and another 100 workers will resume work in the coming days, Weng Xuedong, the general engineer of the construction project said.

To ensure that construction work resumes orderly and the epidemic prevention and control measures implemented properly, several measures have been implemented. These include strict management of the construction site, disinfecting public areas twice a day and checking workers' temperatures at least twice a day. In addition, medical supplies such as face masks, protective suits, and disinfectant are available to ensure the safety of workers.

Located in the center of Beijing's sub-center, the transportation hub is an important center linking downtown Beijing and neighboring regions. Upon completion, commuters need to take only one hour on public transport to travel from the city subcenter to the Xiongan New Area, 15 minutes to the Beijing Capital International Airport and 35 minutes to Daxing airport. In the future, the land above the hub will be used to build a large business district which will drive regional economic growth.
