China's meteorological authority on Tuesday issued blue alerts for a cold front and severe convection weather, forecasting low temperature and heavy rain in central, eastern and northern parts of the country.

From Wednesday to Saturday, strong winds will be seen in most central and eastern regions, with the temperatures dropping 6 to 10 degrees Celsius, according to the National Meteorological Center (NMC).

In some areas of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, northern and southeastern parts of China, temperatures will drop by over 12 degrees Celsius.

Heavy rain is expected to hit parts of the provinces of Guangdong, Hunan, Jiangxi, Fujian, as well as Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the next three days, said the NMC.

The center advised the public to take precautions against the cold weather and warned of fire risks due to the strong winds in north China.

In the country's four-tier weather warning system, red is the most severe, followed by orange, yellow and blue.
