Luohu should further develop its port economic belt and "golden triangle" business zone over the next five years, according to Shenzhen's commerce development plan for the 14th Five-Year period (2021-25), published recently by the city's bureau of commerce to solicit public opinion.

According to the plan, Luohu should build an innovative consumption demonstration zone near its ports and improve the port zone's functions in promoting the development of cultural trade, services, tourism and e-commerce.

The consumption zone should have the Luohu Port-Shenzhen Railway Station as its center, where the service functions of business facilities should be further developed. The plan also states that smart retail spaces, cross-border e-commerce plus overseas warehouse retail models, customization outlets, chain stores and trade enterprise headquarters should be further developed to improve the zone's influence.

The Luohu "golden triangle" business zone has the Buji River as its axis, featuring greenways and pedestrian streets. The plan says it is expected to link many of the district's shopping zones.

Luohu is also urged to expedite its urban renovation projects in Caiwuwei to build a host of business landmark complexes, as well as to advance the upgrading projects in the Dongmen business zone and develop a pedestrian street combing local culture and modern fashion.

The plan also says that the Luohu Port and Shenzhen Railway Station's transportation hub upgrades must be accelerated.
