On the afternoon of July 26, a truck driver surnamed Zhu was confirmed as being infected with COVID-19, according to the Centre for Health Protection of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

An investigation indicated the driver, under the relevant exemption policies and regulations, entered the Chinese mainland through Wenjindu Port in Luohu, Shenzhen, at 20:31 on July 18.

Testing negative, he returned to Hong Kong through the same port at 19:26 of July 22.

Epidemiological surveys indicate the driver used to live in the Panshan Garden community under the jurisdiction of the Liantang sub-district office of Luohu.

According to relevant rules on pandemic control, all residents of the community were required to immediately undergo a nucleic acid test free of charge. Residents were also required to strengthen their personal health protection, and go to the nearest fever clinic if they showed any of the designated symptoms.
