The media center of the China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) located at Asia Financial Center started operations Friday to serve over 2,300 registered journalists. Volunteers for the center began working Thursday.

The two floors of the media center covers 4,700 square meters and has nine functional areas, including the comprehensive services area, the public working area, the exclusive working area, the news release area, the catering area, and the media operation security area.

Fully covered with 5G, the center provides professional equipment, information on activities and conferences, and radio and television services. In particular, livestreaming services and devices are available for the convenience of new media communication and media convergence reporting.

As of Tuesday, 2,347 journalists from 285 media institutes had registered to attend CIFTIS, according to Ru Tao, vice group leader of the comprehensive government group at the media center. Specifically, 79 journalists and 21 media outlets are from overseas, and 57 journalists and 16 media organizations are from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan.

In the media center, 94 volunteers provide services in English, French, and German at the service center, the conference interview group, and the media exclusive working area. Those volunteers are from the Communication University of China, the University of Science and Technology Beijing, and Beijing Foreign Studies University.

Asia Financial Center will host over 50 forums during the CIFTIS. General Manager Zhao Jin said Asia Financial Center is focused on international exchanges and financial services, which coincides with the theme of CIFTIS -- "global services, shared prosperity."
