At 6:57 a.m. on September 3, Air China CA746 carrying passengers from Phnom Penh, Cambodia, landed at Beijing Capital International Airport. It was the first international flight to Beijing Capital International Airport since the Civil Aviation Administration of China announced the gradual resumption of direct international flights to Beijing without passing through one of the designated first points of entry into China.

To strengthen quarantine efforts and ensure convenient customs clearance for passengers, Beijing Customs has improved the customs clearance process and further enhanced its nucleic acid testing capacity.

Passengers are required to present their health QR code to match their health status with their identity information, effectively meeting data sharing requirements among departments of on-site quarantine, tracing, and joint prevention and control mechanism.

In addition to the infrared thermometers, negative pressure isolation chambers, negative pressure isolation transfer cabins, and hematology analyzers, Beijing Customs has also added self-service health declaration machines, workstations, temporary sampling cabins, and other equipment to improve the efficiency of on-sitequarantine.

It's reported that passengers only need to present the health QR code to pass through Beijing Customs. The whole process, being paperless and contactless, avoids cross-infection and cuts the time needed for customs clearance by half compared with before the flight diversion.

To control the risk of imported infections, all international passenger flights scheduled for Beijing have been diverted to other airports as their first point of entry since March 23. Passengers who passed quarantine inspection can fly to Beijing on their original flights.
