Phase 3 of Line 2, Phase 3 of Line 3 and Phase 1 of Line 8 of Shenzhen subway and Phase 3 of Line 4 of the Hong Kong MTR (Shenzhen) were opened on Oct. 28.

Now the city has more than 400 kilometers of subway with 283 stations.

Phase 3 of Line 2 and Phase 1 of Line 8 connect with each other, extending over 16.2 km combined from Xinxiu station to Yantianlu station, forming an important part of the 51.93 km artery subway line going east and west across the city.

Phase 3 of Line 2 and Phase 1 of Line 8 will effectively connect Liantang with Luohu, Futian and Nanshan.

Phase 3 of Line 3 is 1.45 km long and extends from Yitian station to Fubao station.

Phase 3 of Line 4 of the Hong Kong MTR (Shenzhen) is 10.8 km long and connects Qinghubei station and Niuhu station.

Shenzhen has opened 107 km of subway so far this year, the longest ever since the opening of Lines 7, 9 and 11 in 2016.

Notably, Phase 1 of Line 8 is the first subway line in Yantian district, making it more convenient to travel from the center of the city to Yantian port. Liantang, Fubao and Guanlan, as sub-district zones, have also entered their subway era.

By now, the Shenzhen subway network has covered almost all sub-district zones, except Dapeng and Pingshan.

The construction projects of five intercity railways connecting Shenzhen with neighboring cities will start this year. By then, the total length of railway and subway under construction will reach 787 km.

After these projects are finished, Shenzhen will come closer to the vision of "a city with an efficient rail traffic system."

Since Phase 3 of Line 4 came into operation, the total length of Line 4 reached 31.3 km. The Guanlan sub-district zone is connected by the city's subway network, and now it takes only 40 minutes to reach the center of Futian by subway from Guanlan.

The layout of stations at Phase 3 of Line 4 gives full consideration to the needs of the old urban area development, infrastructural facility renovation and conditions of nearby structures in Guanlan, so as to seamlessly imbed the stations into the local urban and natural environment.
