Beijing is building an international consumer spending hub at its Daxing International Airport economic zone and progressing toward higher-quality development, according to the seventh session of the 5th Daxing District People's Congress.

After the roads and utilities in the zone were constructed, the municipality is now building an international exhibition complex and an international consumer spending hub. Besides, the city is also building six industrial parks for aviation, biological medicine, international business, stem cell sector, free trade innovation service, and medical device manufacturing.

There are now over 300 market entities in the Beijing section of the economic zone. To better serve companies here, the management committee has released 120 institutional innovation policies, over 40 of which has been put in place.

Some administrative powers at the municipal level have also been delegated to the management committee within the 50-square-kilometer planned area in the Beijing section of the zone.
