Luohu district organized a training workshop for middle and primary school teachers at Longlin Minzu Middle School in Longlin county, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, Jan. 9-10.

Dr. Li Min, a researcher of the Educational Science Research Institute of Shenzhen, was the main instructor.

Teachers from 48 schools of 16 townships of the county attended the activity - part of Luohu's assistance project to Longlin.

Li shared experiences on how to arouse student interest and promote quality education with the teachers from Longlin, and also taught them how to apply for government-funded research programs.

The teachers from Longlin spoke high of Dr. Li's lectures, saying that they benefited tremendously from the special New Year gift from Luohu.

Zhang Xiujuan, deputy chief of Longlin education bureau, who is also from Luohu, and other officials of the bureau, including Lu Caihui, Liu Qianhua, along with all the teachers from Luohu currently teaching in the county also took part in the activity.

Thanks to the joint efforts of Luohu and Longlin, the latter was able to eliminate rural poverty as of the end of last year. Luohu believes that to improve teacher quality is key to improving education quality in Longlin, a foundation for the county's development.
