North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region lifted 802,000 people out of poverty in the past five years, according to the 2021 regional government work report.

Inner Mongolia delisted 57 counties and 3,681 villages from the poverty list during the period, according to the report delivered at the region's ongoing annual legislative session.

The region has made efforts in poverty alleviation by providing safe housing, guaranteeing basic living allowance and social assistance, and developing businesses.

The average per capita income of registered poor residents rose from 3,019 yuan (468.5 U.S. dollars) in 2015 to 13,159 yuan in 2020, with an average annual growth of 34.2 percent.
