E-mail China.org.cn, April 20, 2021The 16th World Leisure Congress concluded on April 18, 2021, in Beijing's Pinggu district. The two-day event, themed "Leisure Makes Life Better," explored the future of the global leisure industry, showcased unique leisure products from different regions in China, and fostered new industrial models in Beijing's leisure sector.
According to local authorities, the event received some 80,000 visits online and in person, and more than 110,000 tourists have traveled to the district since the congress kicked off on Friday.
During the main session on April 16, experts from home and abroad exchanged ideas on future trends in the leisure industry and how people's lifestyle choices are likely to change.
At the conclusion of the event, a think tank was established among university scholars in order to pool wisdom and continue to set the stage for the Beijing World Leisure Congress. Additionally, reports concerning the development of leisure cities in China as well as Beijing's leisure sector were also released to provide sound guidance for China's leisure industry.
Finally, a number of prizes related to leisure life around the world were unveiled.
A total of 418 enterprises from home and abroad were invited to the leisure industrial expo this year. According to local authorities, 37 projects organized roadshows, while 19 negotiation sessions were held for investment and trade purposes. The live-streamed congress recorded over 30,000 views.
The event also brought tremendous business opportunities to Pinggu. Local authorities have signed deals with their counterparts in northeast China's Changchun city as well as energy companies in Beijing. Meanwhile, Capital Library of China, Huawei, and audiobook supplier Ximalaya also look to cooperate with enterprises in Pinggu in the near future.
