The Beijing Municipal Health Commission and seven other departments in the capital have recently jointly formulated a pilot work plan for the construction of healthy companies in the city. By 2022, the city will select 30 companies comprised of large-, medium- and micro-businesses to take part in the pilot scheme to build "healthy' companies.

The pilot program requires company managers to increase capital investment to carry out "healthy management" aimed at improving their colleagues' wellbeing. These companies will arrange for their employees to participate in physical, mental, family, and lifestyle health checkups at regular intervals.

The companies will also set up publicity boards to guide employees to actively participate in physical exercise and walk regularly. In addition, they will regularly organize health-related workshops and training, and use various methods to increase public awareness about health knowledge. Through these schemes, they hope to increase employees' awareness and core knowledge about occupational health to above 95%.

The companies have been asked to set up special departments and appoint personnel to oversee their employees' health as well as physical functions. They will also establish health records and send regular exercise information to their employees' .

The pilot program will be carried out on a voluntary basis among all industrial companies in the city. However, other types of enterprises are also encouraged to participate in the program.
