The Chinese Dream, with the goal of achieving the "great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation," was proposed by Chinese President Xi Jinping. It is concerned with building a strong and prosperous country, rejuvenating the nation and realizing the well-being of the people.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, made the remarks during a visit to "The Road Toward Rejuvenation" exhibition on Nov. 29, 2012.

"Realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation is the greatest dream for the Chinese nation in modern history," Xi said.

The Chinese Dream embodies the long-cherished aspirations of generations of Chinese people, represents the overall interests of China and its people, and is a common hope for every Chinese person, according to Xi.

Xi noted that that by the time the Communist Party of China marks the 100th anniversary of its founding, the goal of building a moderately prosperous society in all respects will inevitably be achieved.

Xi reaffirmed that when it comes to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, the goal of building an affluent, strong, civilized and harmonious modern socialist country will certainly be fulfilled, and the dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will undoubtedly be accomplished.
