Shanghai reports 3 new locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases

Shanghai reported three new locally-transmitted COVID-19 cases on Saturday, all of whom are working at the Shanghai Pudong International Airport, local authorities said.

The three are workers at the operation zone handling freight aircraft from overseas. Two of them are colleagues of one of the confirmed cases reported on Friday, according to a press conference on the COVID-19 prevention and control on Saturday.

Another is the close contact of one of the newly-confirmed cases.

All of them were vaccinated against COVID-19 before.

On Friday, Shanghai reported two new locally transmitted COVID-19 cases related to the airport, and as of 10 a.m. Saturday, a total of 120 close contacts had been quarantined, including three tested positive, namely the three confirmed cases reported Saturday.

The rest 117 all tested negative.

Samples of 74,879 people in Shanghai have been collected, and so far, the results of 74,639 are negative. The other samples are still being tested.
