Shanghai Disney Resort announced on Friday that LinaBell the fox, the highly anticipated new friend of Duffy the Disney Bear, will make her global debut in Shanghai on Sept. 29, making for another exciting surprise during the resort's Duffy Month.

LinaBell is a curious and inquisitive fox with a fluffy tail and an orchid tucked behind her ear. She finds joy and excitement in solving problems and mysteries, and masterfully uses her signature magnifying glass on her adventures. LinaBell also loves nature and spending time with bear Duffy and their friends in the forest. "Her wit, savvy, and fun-loving attitude are sure to make her a favorite of both guests and Duffy and Friends fans alike," read a statement from Shanghai Disney Resort.

"As a big fan of Duffy the Disney Bear myself, I'm thrilled to introduce the latest Duffy Friend to all of our guests here in Shanghai, and fans around the world," said Joe Schott, president and general manager of Shanghai Disney Resort. "Since the moment they first arrived at Shanghai Disney Resort, Duffy, ShellieMay, Gelatoni, StellaLou, CookieAnn and 'Olu Mel, have melted hearts of our guests and we continue to deliver magical new experiences based on the amazing stories of their friendship."

Visitors to Shanghai Disneyland will be the first in the world to meet LinaBell, and can celebrate her arrival with special merchandise as well as themed food and beverage offerings. In addition, Tribal Table, the popular restaurant and store in the resort's Adventure Isle that merges Duffy and Friends-themed dining and shopping, will also be reimagined and transformed into a LinaBell-inspired space.

The theme park, which celebrated its fifth birthday this June, designated September as “Duffy Month.” Guests are greeted by a Duffy floral display, with other themed "surprises" dotted throughout the park, from decorations and performances to dining and shopping experiences.

The Duffy and Friends is a popular offering from Disney, especially in terms of merchandise. The latest example was a Mid-Autumn Festival edition of the StellaLou toy which sold out in just three days of its release in early August. Among a list of fun facts released by Shanghai Disney Resort in June to mark its birthday, it was said that a total of 5.77 million plush toys have been sold so far; and if all StellaLou-related merchandise sold at the resort was stacked on top of each other, the height would equal 119 Mount Everests. It remains to be seen if LinaBell will continue the frenzy.
