A number of new research and development (R&D) institutions will co-host parallel forums at the 2021 Zhongguancun Forum and debut their research results. The forum will also host a parallel event about block chain and digital economy for the first time.

The new R&D institutions that will participate in the forum include Beijing Academy of Quantum Information Sciences (BAQIS), Beijing Academy of Artificial Intelligence (BAAI), and Beijing Academy of Blockchain and Edge Computing.

The parallel forum about the development and future of quantum technology will be co-hosted by BAQIS and take place on Sept. 26. The forum's topics will include quantum technology and history about its research and development, quantum computing, quantum teleportation, quantum precision measurement, and the latest development and application in those fields.

BAAI will co-host the parallel forum about artificial intelligence and multidisciplinary coordination and innovation, focusing on the interdisciplinary and sustainable development of artificial intelligence modeling.

In June, BAAI unveiled Wudao 2.0, the world's biggest AI modeling system with parameters amounting to 1.75 trillion. According to a person in charge at BAAI, the academy will focus on wider applications of the AI modeling system to benefit more industries. In addition, BAAI will present two achievements regarding Wudao AI modeling system at the forum, according to the academy's vice director Tang Jie.

At the parallel forum about block chain and digital economy, experts will discuss how block chain can facilitate digital infrastructure building, promote technological innovation, and bolster digital economic development, so as to blaze a new trail in quality-oriented economic development.
