Shougang Park, a steel mill-turned cultural and sports complex in western Beijing, is making all-out efforts to implement preventive measures and ensure a safe Winter Olympic Games.

Given the current epidemic situation, institutions and business operators in the park are required to enhance coordination in their anti-epidemic efforts and strictly follow pandemic control and prevention strategies in Shougang Park, competition venues, and supporting facilities, as well as construction sites.

The park has tightened management of staff and tourists by checking their temperature and health code upon entry, as well as requiring them to wear masks, ensure ventilation and disinfection in venues, and practice social distancing.

It has established a joint prevention and control mechanism with all companies and businesses inside. Tourist admissions are also currently limited.

For instance, the Kappa Shougang Infinite Park will cap the number of visitors at 60% of its maximum daily capacity. Meanwhile, all rock-climbing equipment inside will be disinfected immediately after being used in a bid to lower the risk of cross-infection.

The athletes training area of the park's sports center has also called off unnecessary entries. Maintenance staff need to provide a negative nucleic acid test within 48 hours before entering. Staff in close contact with athletes are required to follow the relevant regulations of the closed-loop management system.

In addition, more preventive efforts have been made in commercial properties, restaurants, and hotels inside the park. The office area of the Beijing 2022 organizing committee and the national winter sports training center are also undergoing closed-loop management.
