The 2022 Beijing Major Cultural and Tourism Projects Promotion was held online on Wednesday, which promoted 45 major cultural and tourism projects in 10 categories with a total investment of 12.2 billion yuan.

The 45 major projects include innovative cultural tourism, village homestays and hotels, construction of featured villages, tourist attractions, sports tourism, research tourism, travel agencies, and tourism infrastructure and services.

These projects represent the city's culture and tourism development for now and the following few years, according to the promotion organizers.

Three projects on sports tourism, red wine estate, and construction of featured villages reached deals of 620 million yuan during the promotional event.

With the trend of the integrated development of culture and tourism, the advantages of Beijing's cultural industries will be fully leveraged and the cultural tourism industry will be further expanded, said an executive of the Qinglonghu Sports Tourism project.

In the first three quarters of 2021, Beijing received 198 million tourists and generated a tourism revenue of 307.49 billion yuan, growing 74.2% and 86.2% year on year, respectively. The figures made significant recoveries to pre-pandemic levels, accounting for 81.1% and 66.5%, respectively, of the numbers in 2019. Both numbers are higher than the national average.
