A set of square dance moves were recently choreographed based on the music video for the official song and motto of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games "Together for a Shared Future."

Beginning this Tuesday, staff members and volunteers of Beijing's culture centers will teach the moves to a total of 1,080 public square-dancing teams in the city, which will help spread the routine to more than 9,000 amateur dance groups.

According to the choreography committee, the dance moves incorporate iconic gestures from the song, and the leg moves specifically have been designed in a way that will be much easier for the public to learn.

The square dance will be taught and promoted both online and in person. For example, dance instructors in the city will hold tutoring sessions at 16 city-level cultural centers and 333 village ballrooms. These dance classes will then be recorded and made available via online video platforms.

Citizens are also encouraged to record and upload their own dance moves based on the music video.

The dance routine is expected to be further promoted throughout 3,000 culture centers across the country, in an effort to create a nationwide hospitable atmosphere for the upcoming Winter Games.
