The 2021 Happy Beijing Ice and Snow Season and the 36th Yanqing Ice and Snow Festival were opened at Beijing Horticulture Expo Park in Beijing's northwestern Yanqing district Nov. 27.
The events, co-hosted by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism and the Yanqing District Government, will last from the end of November 2021 through mid-February 2022. During the opening ceremony, a total of 22 Beijing ice and snow tourism routes were unveiled for the first time, providing tourists with a definitive guide to the capital's best places for skiing, mountaineering, hiking, leisure drives, dining and trendy hotspots.
The 2021 Happy Beijing Ice and Snow Season is a celebration of winter fun that includes winter Olympic-themed cultural activities, festivals, and ice and snow events held at ski resorts in various districts throughout Beijing.
Meanwhile, the 36th Yanqing Ice and Snow Festival will feature some 100 ice and snow activities, offering participants the chance to immerse themselves in all the excitement of winter sports and the taste of local culture and cuisine. Visitors can also enjoy various services such as introductions to scenic spots, customized route planning, audio travel guides and online ticket purchases through the official WeChat account of Yanqing.
In addition, Yanqing district has launched 10 ice and snow tourism routes connecting nearly 60 winter resorts including the Ice and Snow Carnival at Beijing Horticulture Expo Park, as well as Shijinglong and Badaling ski resorts.
Taking advantage of the upcoming Winter Olympics, Beijing has been working hard to cultivate its ice and snow industry, effectively accelerating the development of the Beijing-Zhangzhou sports cultural tourism belt.
