Chang'an Avenue, an iconic thoroughfare in Beijing, will be decorated with red lanterns and Chinese knots on Jan. 20 to greet the upcoming Spring Festival, according to the Beijing branch of the State Grid.

The section from Dongdan to Xidan will be illuminated by 242 red lanterns, and the sections from Dongdan to Guomao Bridge and from Xidan to Xinxing Bridge will be adorned by 862 Chinese knots. Meanwhile, 100 units of string lights will be installed in the Beihai Bridge area.

To save costs, all the lanterns, lights, and Chinese knots will be reused from last year's Spring Festival.
