Beijing issued subway instruction cards in braille recently, aiming to provide more convenient services for visually impaired people.

The portable cards, commissioned by the Beijing Disabled Persons' Federation, print out the stations, routes, and the time of the first and last trains of the day on subway lines 4 and 8.

Subway stations in Beijing have been equipped with tactile paving, voice announcements, as well as braille instructions at key locations. Subway staff and volunteers are also ready to help visually impaired people when they are in need, according to Beijing subway operators.
