Chinese scientists have discovered a new mineral on the moon for the first time and named it "Chang'e Stone", according to the China National Space Administration and the China Atomic Energy Authority on Friday.

This is the sixth mineral found on the moon by mankind. This latest discovery has made China the third country in the world to record such findings.

In Chinese mythology, Chang'e was a beautiful young girl who took an immortality pill and then flew to the moon, where she became the moon goddess. Chang'e is also the name for China's lunar mission.
