Shenzhen's first community rehabilitation center taking care of seniors and children opened in Cuizhu of Luohu district on Sept. 15.
The Center is a service site that provides home care programs for families with disabled and widowed older adults or couples who have lost their only child.
At the same time, it is also a community demonstration project of scientific child care for early childhood development in the Luohu district.
The center provides full-cycle and comprehensive child health care and specializes in children's disease prevention, vaccination and scientific parenting. It also organizes parent-child reading activities and provides early growth and development monitoring services for children in the community.
The center covers an area of 1,400 square meters, serving 25,000 permanent residents, including 529 older adults aged 65 years and above and 1,255 children aged 0-6 years.
According to the Luohu government, more and more such centers will be founded in the district's communities to meet the needs of the people.
