A detailed timeline of China's major events since the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) will be published to mark the upcoming 20th CPC National Congress.

Compiled by the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee, the timeline chronicles the major achievements of the Party and the country over the unusual and extraordinary last five years.

It has, among other things, recorded how the CPC has led the Chinese people in building a moderately prosperous society in all respects, in embarking on the new journey of building a modern socialist country in all respects, in braving the global changes unseen in a century and the COVID-19 pandemic, and in making fresh contributions to promoting the building of a community with a shared future for mankind and a better world.

The detailed timeline covers major events in fields such as the economy, politics, culture, society, ecology, military affairs, diplomacy and Party building.
