"You Make the World a Beautiful Place (Guangzhou)", a global image story contest was launched in Guangzhou, south China's Guangdong provice on Feb. 18.  

In addition to nature, culture, and cities, a new category of Guangzhou is set up for beautiful stories that happened in the international metropolis and highlight its innovative and leading role in promoting ecological civilization.

The contest was co-hosted by the China Center for International Communication Development at the China International Communications Group (CICG) and the Information Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government 

About the contest:

Aiming to tell vividly a global audience the true and complete story of environmental protection and green development in Guangzhou, the Greater Bay area and even all of China, and convey to the world the meanings of jointly building a community of all life on Earth, the CICG's China Center for International Communication Development and the Information Office of the Guangzhou Municipal People's Government co-host "You Make the World a Beautiful Place (Guangzhou)", a global contest of image-based stories. The contest's industry and promotion partners include 500px, a global online community of professional photographers under the Visual China Group, the South China National Botanical Garden and the Hong Kong Peace and Culture Exchange Center.

Contest themes:

The contest's four categories are Nature: Beauty of Biodiversity, Culture: Way of Harmonious Coexistence, Cities: Song of Future Life and Guangzhou: Land of International Innovation. 

Contest schedule:

Entry submission: Feb. 18—July 31

Entry assessment: Aug. 1—Aug. 31. 

Entry display: Sept. 1—Dec. 31 

Entry Assessment and Prizes:

1. One special jury award (10,000 yuan), two gold awards (5,000 yuan each), five silver awards (3,000 yuan each), ten bronze awards (2,000 yuan each) and 50 recognition awards. (All prize money is pre-tax) 

2. Certificates of honor to individual/organization awardees.

3. Individual/organization awardees eligible for related activities.

Send entries as attachments to the contest's email address. Please write in the email's subject: You Make the World a Beautiful Place (Guangzhou) image story global contest. Include the contest entry form (click here to download) in your email. 

Entries can also be submitted via cloud storage links (with passwords). Baidu cloud service is recommended to domestic participants, and Google Drive to international participants.
