On May 4, 2023, the "Oriental Aesthetics" forum, a sub-forum of the ninth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations, is held in Milan, Italy.
The "Oriental Aesthetics" forum, a sub-forum of the ninth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations, was held recently in Milan, Italy.
The forum, focusing on Chinese culture and oriental aesthetics, brought together experts and scholars from the fashion design industry in China and Italy to engage in discussions on East-West aesthetics and fashion and design cooperation, with the aim of promoting cultural exchange between the East and the West.
Mario Boselli, president of the Italy China Council Foundation (ICCF), said that both sides will further deepen cooperation, carry out cultural exchange activities in various fields, and actively promote exchanges between China and Italy in the fields of fashion and culture.
Chinese Consul General in Milan Liu Kan said that the friendship between China and Italy over the past 2,000 years have greatly promoted the exchange between Eastern and Western civilizations as well as their integration. He added that continuing friendship and cooperation between the two countries follows the trend of the times and the will of the people, and is in the fundamental interests of the two peoples. The Chinese Consulate General in Milan will continue to support exchanges and cooperation between China and Italy in areas such as the economy, trade, and culture, Liu said.
Bai Yugang, a member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee and director of Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies, pointed out in his speech that the forum aimed to explore the brilliant clothing culture of the Chinese nation, showcase the unique charm of Eastern aesthetics, and enhance the Italian people's understanding of the Chinese civilization. He also called on both sides to deepen academic research, strengthen personnel exchange, expand cooperation in various fields, and work toward a better life for humanity.
During the forum, an inauguration ceremony of the Chinese Culture Fashion Institute and a signing ceremony of the cooperation between the China Confucius Foundation and the ICCF were held.
The event was co-hosted by the Nishan World Center for Confucian Studies and the Chinese Culture Fashion Institute. The ninth Nishan Forum on World Civilization is scheduled to take place in Shandong province in September this year, with three overseas sub-forums to be held in Thailand, Austria, and Italy.
