Nearly 40 journalists representing 16 domestic and international media outlets paid a visit to Beijing's Daxing district on Wednesday, to gain a glimpse into the city's high-quality development.
The journalists' first destination was a hydrogen energy demonstration zone in Daxing, operational since November 2021. There, they delved into the intricacies of hydrogen production, storage, transportation, and the hydrogen fuel cell industry chain. The group later visited a public testing area within the demonstration zone, where they had the chance to examine fuel cell and engine testing equipment.
The next stop on the itinerary was Panggezhuang, a town renowned for its watermelon production. At Sijiyangkun Technology Development Co., Beijing's largest intensive watermelon nursery, the journalists toured the seedling greenhouses and the fruit and vegetable cultivation areas, experiencing tech-driven agriculture up close.
Throughout the tour, the journalists expressed admiration for the accomplishments achieved by Daxing district and Beijing in the pursuit of high-quality development.
The press tour was organized by the Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Information Office of the Beijing Municipal People's Government.
