Beijing's Chaoyang district made its independent debut at the 19th China International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF), showcasing its abundant cultural, commercial, and tourism resources. The fair is taking place in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, from June 7 to 11.

Themed on "Openness and Vitality in Chaoyang," the exhibition area has brought together over 20 cultural and technological enterprises, including Beijing's iconic cultural industry parks. The exhibition presents the advances in the integration and development of cultural industries, leading enterprises in Chaoyang's cultural and tourism sectors, as well as the contribution of culture to a better life.

Among the highlights of the exhibition area, the most captivating installation has been the "Emotional Bar" from the 798 Art District. The interdisciplinary art installation features a strikingly tall metal beverage dispenser surrounded by a circular bar counter. Visitors can interact with the installation by placing their palms on the sensors embedded in the counter. By analyzing their heart rate, body temperature, sympathetic nervous system, and parasympathetic nervous system data, the installation generates an emotional model. The bar screen displays the test results, while a robotic arm skillfully crafts a personalized drink that matches the individual's emotional state. The taste of the beverage varies depending on the person's emotions.

The exhibition also introduces the Liangma River International Waterfront, the first national-level night-time cultural and tourism consumption cluster, allowing visitors to virtually experience a boat ride through VR devices. From a first-person perspective, they could immerse themselves in the splendid scenery along the Liangma River.

Chaoyang is home to 40% of Beijing's large-scale cultural enterprises and digital entertainment unicorns, 50% of listed cultural companies, 60% of renowned creative design companies, 80% of top Multi-Channel Network companies and digital content production companies, 80% of key national cultural export projects, and 90% of international media agencies.

In 2022, Chaoyang district had 2,512 cultural enterprises above the designated size, accounting for about 3.6% of the national total, with a revenue of 287.43 billion yuan ($40.41 billion), approximately 2.4% of the national total.

Chaoyang district is also working toward becoming a fashion city, an art hub, and a destination for tea and coffee lovers, aiming to attract domestic and international partners with its diverse and vibrant image.
