Beijing is planning to build two robot industrial parks in Yizhuang and Changping, with planned areas of 250,000 square meters and 300,000 square meters, respectively, the city announced at the 2023 World Robot Conference.

Located in the south and north of Beijing, the two robot industrial parks will support Beijing's efforts in building robot industrial bases. The capital city will award model factories and give financial support to major projects. For qualified enterprises in the Beijing-Hebei-Tianjin region that produce whole robots and core components, the awards can go up to 30 million yuan.

In addition, the city will promote application of robot-related innovations in various industries, release catalogues of robot-based solutions for application scenarios, and launch a campaign to promote trial applications of new products.

The global robotics market is projected to exceed US$47.7 billion in 2023, according to an industrial report released in 2021. China now boasts more than 340,000 robot-related enterprises including leading enterprises and unicorn enterprises, and has fostered a number of upstream and downstream industrial chains.
