The 2023 World Intelligent Connected Vehicles Conference opened on Thursday at the China International Exhibition Center in Shunyi district, Beijing.

The opening day witnessed the launch of the "Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Automotive Industry Chain Map." It focuses on new energy and intelligent connected vehicles, emphasizing collaborative innovation and industry cooperation in order to strengthen innovation chains, industry chains, and supply chains for the coordinated development of the region.

The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, known for its economic dynamism and innovation, boasts a comprehensive ecosystem for vehicle and core component design, research, development, and validation.

According to data from the National Innovation Center of Intelligent and Connected Vehicles, the automotive sector alone is expected to add more than 1 trillion yuan (US$137 billion) to China's intelligent connected vehicle industry by 2025.

The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region aims to leverage its regional advantages, including policy support, industrial collaboration, technological innovation, infrastructure development, and testing and application, to accelerate the practical application of outcomes derived from the map.

Looking forward, the region is expected to enhance collaboration within the intelligent connected vehicle industry chain and advance research and manufacturing of automotive chips.

Xin Guobin, vice minister of industry and information technology, said the auto industry is inherently international, while the industry of intelligent connected vehicles demands even greater cross-border integration and cooperation. He called on all stakeholders to collaborate in research and development, jointly promote innovation, create a fair and non-discriminatory market environment, and ensure the smooth development of both the industrial and supply chains.
